The first way in which i addressed my audience was through the use of the title, this was predominantly shown in red bold font, and attracted my audience with the genre "indie" straight away. My magazine advertises free posters with the issue and also gives the readers the opportunity to win tickets to festivals and holiday destinations which is a selling point for my magazine, because many indie students attend festivals as their interests. With my target age being females i also got the opinion of a male student who was interested in the genre of indie, to see wether or not it may have attracted male viewers also. I had also covered quite a wide age range of 17 - 25 year olds, so it was difficult to know exactly what to include to fit everybody's interests.I thought about typical indie styling, to represent what genre my magazine was, where my model shows individuality and rebellion, through her tattoo being on show on the main cover. To see whether or not i correctly addressed my target audience i asked people who were typically a "indie" audience, and gained feedback from them in video format. I wanted to see what they individually thought of my main cover, contents and double page spread to see if i succesfully achieved the correct style of an indie magazine. Below is the video i recorded with student views based on layout, advertisements, forms and conventions of my magazine.
