Analysis of my findings for a college magazine.

From conducting a questionnaire I discarded that 95% of my intended audience do not read a college magazine. This tells me that the original product is not being constructed or merchandised correctly to reach its target audience. I also asked whether or not my audience would be willing to pay for a college magazine and a high percentage of 75% said that they would not be willing to pay for a college magazine in which they do not read. However there were approximately 25% in which stated they would willingly pay on estimation 50p for their college magazine. Looking at these statistics the college magazine I will be making may therefore need to be advertised free for a certain period of time to attract readers with a free gift by promoting advertisements in which my audience is interested in. I then asked my audience what they would be interested in seeing featured in a college magazine the most favourite for this was upcoming gigs, competitions and personal messages however people were less interested in having the history of the college and workload which therefore I would not include in the college magazine. The most people thought that the college magazine needed more improving on the basis of colour, pictures and publicity which meant that I would have to improve on these things to make it successful towards my target audience. I then wanted to find out how often my audience would get a college magazine and the most people said that they would purchase their college magazine monthly being an average of 50%, however only 30% of my audience would prefer this to be merchandised weekly with 20% of my audience wanting this termly. I could clearly analyse this based on these results and decide on making my magazine every fortnight to please both audiences. After this is it was important for me to ask what my audience would like to read in the magazine, as this needs to be successfully done to target my audience correctly. Most of my audience said that they wanted me to include upcoming gigs, jobs, cinema, fashion, gossip, agony aunts and Facebook news which are all typically associated with a teenage audience. One aspect in which my audience was not favourable at was world news, therefore the aspects which turned out to be least favourable I would therefore not include in my magazine.
